A construction magnate and over a dozen other individuals have surrendered to authorities in connection with criminal negligence charges stemming from the collapse of a high-rise building in Bangkok during an earthquake on March 28. Premchai Karnasuta, president of Italian-Thai Development Co, is among those who have turned themselves in. The charges relate to the alleged failure to ensure the structural integrity of the building, which collapsed during the seismic event.
